文青（ウェンチン）

文青（ウェンチン）と言う言葉は何ですか。

それは台湾近年若者の流行っているトレンドです。

この言葉の意味はちゃんと説明するのは難しいですが、一応文青は台湾の若者は文学と生活についての態度です。

一般的文青の印象は：

１．文学の本が大好き「特に日本の村上春樹さんの本」

２．無地の服やスタイルが好き　「特に白い、灰色、黒色、冷たいトーン色」

３．丸型のメガネをかけている

４．キャンバスのバッグは定番

５．コンパースの靴も定番　

６．「無地良品」や「誠品ブックストア」やお洒落なカフェなどがいつもの出入り場所

７．特別なディサインや手作りの物が好き

８．考え方や態度は一般人とちょっと違う「変とか、それとももっと芸術的だ」

９．音楽なら、台湾の歌手－陳綺貞（チェン・チーチェン、チアー・チェン）

１０．            髪型なら、やっぱり黒髪は定番いろ。スタイルならベリーショットなボブ

１１．            写真を撮る時、きっとカメラの焦点を合わせない

いかがでしょうか。それは台湾の文青基本的な特徴です。そんなスタイルは普通なかもしれないが、文青定義はやっぱりこのグルプの人の態度です。

欧美では、文青と類似したのは「hipster」です。

日本ならそんな類似するグルプがありますか。

What is ‘wen chin’?

‘Wen Chin’ is the trend among the youngster in Taiwan within these few years.

Perhaps, it is a bit abstract to describe the real meaning of ‘wen chin’, but generally, it is about a group of Taiwanese youngster who are fond of literature and have their own point of view about life.

Generally, the characteristic of ‘wen chin’ are:

1.       They love literature books (Especially, the Japanese author – Murakami Haruki)

2.       They prefer plain clothing style (They are especially fond of cold tone colour i.e. white, gray and black)

3.       They always wear round-shaped spectacles

4.       Canvas bag is a must

5.       So do, Converse shoes

6.       Their usual hang out place will be : Muji, Eslite book store and fashionable café

7.       They like special design and handmade things

8.       They way of thought is a bit different from normal people (Maybe they are weird or in other word, more artistic)

9.       In the sense of music, they love Cheer Chen’s songs

10.   For hairstyle, black hair is a must, and it is always the very short bob style

11.   When taking picture, they always look away the camera

How is it? That’s the general characteristic of the Taiwan ‘wen chin’. Their style seems quite simple, but I guess what really defines them are their behavior.

‘Wen chin’ can be compared with the western’s hipster.

How about Japan? Do you have this kind of group?
