ペナン・私が一番好きな所

来月、私の同僚Ｊさんはペナンに観光しに行き予定です。

行く前にきっとペナン人の私に田舎の面白い所を伺います。

私の家以外、ペナンで一番好きな所とは：

UNESCO世界遺産の町・ジョージタウあたりの壁画と色々ユニークな喫茶店です。

そして、一番お勧めのルートは、自転車でこの町を体験しよう～

自転車を貸して（8リンギット、町の辺りは自転車の店がいっぱいです）、ジョージタウの周辺をめぐって、古い建物や下町の雰囲気まみれ、とても素晴らしいです。疲れた時、自転車を止めて、ユニークな喫茶店でコーヒーを飲みながら本を読んで、ゆっくりで時間を過ごします。

今回、ご紹介したいの喫茶店は：

この店の外と中は別な雰囲気をしています。外は普通の古い店みたい、中は簡単モダンなスタイルをしています。とても小さいな店だから、見違える可能性が高いです。その喫茶店のスペシャルは：南洋コーヒーカップで入れたのカップチーノとクロナッツです。

南洋コーヒーカップはマレーシアとシンガポールしかありませんのカップです。普通は南洋スタイルのコーヒーを飲むとき使えるカップです。この店は、東のカップを使え、西のコーヒーを入れる、東西合併とてもユニークです。ちなみに、カップチーノを注文したら、ペナンで作られた貢糖（ピーナッツビスケット）をサービスします。

ジョージタウの辺りはThe Alleyみたいな特別喫茶店がいっぱいあります。時間とチャンスがあれば、必ずもっとのカフェを探検に行こう～

Next month, my colleague J will be going to Penang. She asked me a lot about my hometown and my favorite place in Penang. Other than my house, my favorite spot in Penang is:

The mural arts and unique cafes around George Town, the UNESCO World Heritage Site.  

And the best way to explore around is by cycling.

Simply rent a bicycle (RM8, the area has a lot of bicycle shops) and cycle thru out the whole George Town. The old colonial buildings, the downtown shop houses, this feeling is simply wonderful. When you are tired, park your bicycle and walk into one of the unique coffee house available in the area. Coffee tasting while reading a book, voila! That’s a day of a simple life.

There is a big different between the outside and inside of the coffee house. The outside looks like an old shop, while the inner design is simple and modern. The shop is so small that you’ll probably miss out.  This shop’s specialty is: Cappuccino in Nanyang Coffee Cup and Cronuts.

The Nanyang Coffee Cup only available in Malaysia and Singapore. It is usually use to drink Nanyang style coffee. As for this shop, they use the Eastern cup to pour in Western coffee. That’s their way of East meets west, what a special concept. Not to mention, when you order a cup of cappuccino, it comes along with a bar of “Gong Tang” (Penang specialty: peanuts biscuits).  

In fact other than The Alley, there happens to be a lot of specialty café around the George Town. If you really have the time and chance, don’t hesitate to explore them~

花

花と女性、この二つ昔からずっと強く繋がっています。

花のような女の子、花柄の小物、花柄のお菓子、色々な花の関連な物は女性向けに次々生産しています。

なぜならば、女性は綺麗で、いい香りして、鮮やかな物が大好きです。

花屋さんで花束を買うのはちょっと浪費と思います。

だって、買った後一週間も経てず、すでに枯れました。悲しそう…

もちろん、花束を貰う時のうれしさといったらない。とてもロマンチックで、幸せです。だって、女の子は綺麗な物が好きだから。

浪費のかわり好き、とても曖昧ですね。どうしよう？

花束の代わりに盆栽？！

Flower and ladies, these 2 things are very much related to each other since the olden days.

As beautiful as flower, flowers product, flowers food and etc. We are getting more and more flowers related product each day which marketed on the women.

Why is that so? Because we women, like beautiful, fragrance and bright colored things.

To me, it seems to be a bit wasteful to purchase bouquet from the florist.

I mean, not only it is expensive, the flower itself also not lasting. Not to mention, it’s quite sad to see it undergoes wilting.

But of course it’s always nice to be able to receive flower bouquet. It’s very romantic and beautiful.

Wasteful versus beautiful. How to deal with this problem?

Give potted flower instead of bouquet?!

女子会

先週の金曜日、久しぶりに大学時代の二人親しい友達に会いました。

皆は、私よりもっと早いシンガポールで働いています。

3人で逢った事は、確かに2年ぶりでした。

そして、今回は別の国で会うのはちょっと特別な雰囲気です。

女の子が揃ったら、話題はきっとゴシップ、仕事、ファッション、メイクばかりです。

男の子はそう言う事が嫌だけど、女の子はとてもエンジョイです。

多分、私たちは話が好きかしら？

しかし、こんなの女子会の機会がどんどん少なくなります。一応、こんな年で皆もそろそろ安定しているでしょう。家庭を築いて、仕事をうまくいて、どんどん忙しくなります。

さて、今回女子会の場所をご紹介します。

一番近いＭＲＴは：Tanjong Pagar

私は注文したのは：レッド ベルベットケーキとカップチーノでした。カーキが美味しかったですが、カップチーノはちょっと苦かった。店のデザインはロフトスタイルです。雰囲気は暖かくて、気持ちいいです。

Tanjong Pagar地域が色々なカフェがあります。皆さんもしシンガポールを観光したら、ぜひこの地域を探検してください。

そういえば、日本の女子会はどんな風にですか。

Last Friday, I went out with

two of my university classmates.

Both of them started to work in Singapore earlier than me.

It had been 2 years ever since our last meeting. And now to meet in a different land, it feels a bit special.

Of course if you were to let women sit together and talk. Our topics for sure will be surrounded by gossips, work, fashion, makeup and etc.

To men this is nonsense, but to us, it’s actually an enjoyment.

Perhaps, it is because of the fact that we like to talk?

However, the chance of women hanging out together is getting lesser and lesser. In fact, with this age, most of the women are starting to settle down. Starting a family, success in work, which these they tend to be busier.

The nearest MRT station: Tanjong Pagar

I ordered red velvet cake and cappuccino. The cake was nice, but the coffee was a bit to bitter for my taste. Nonetheless, the café’s design is nice. They are using the loft-like concept making it looks simple but with warm feelings.

The region around Tanjong Pagar has lots of special café. Please come and explore the place if you happen to be in Singapore and also a coffee lover.
