イギリス風

最近二つイギリスの映画を見ました。それは「博士と彼女のセオリー」と「イミテーション・ゲーム」です。二つもとても素晴らしい映画です。そこで、イギリス風のものが気になっています。イギリス風と言えば、やっぱりトレンチコートや、チェック柄など物ですね。そのものを身に着けると紳士になれます。とても素敵です～

ファッションただのみならず、イギリス風の小物もとてもきれいです。

紅茶はイギリス人にとってなくてはならないものです。紅茶を飲みならが、ビスケットやスコーンなどのおやつも食べます。特に午後の紅茶時間はとても大事にします。その故、ティポット、ティカップ、皿、紅茶入れ箱、ビスケット、容器小物などもとてもユニークです。

シンガポールと私の故郷ペナンは昔は英国植民地なので、今までもイギリス風の古い建物があります。そして、イギリスの製品も日本より簡単に手に入れます。この中で、私は一番好きなのはマークス&スペンサーの缶詰めビスケットです。その会社の包装は素敵だし、ビスケットも美味しいし、こうしてビスケットの缶を集めて始めます。今は私は四つＭ＆Ｓのダブルデッカーバス型の缶も持ています。

イギリス風の物が好きだけど、一度もその国に行った事もありません。遠いですから、そしてそこに行くことがなりたくさんお金が必要です。今の私は多分無理ですけど、きっといつかそこに行きます。

I watched 2 brilliant British produced films recently. They were: “The Theory of Everything” and “The Imitation Game”.  Because of these films, I started to notice and fond of British fashioned goods. When we talk about the British fashioned goods, the 1^st thing will appear on mind will be the trench coat and checker design goods. These stuffs are lovely and will make you a ‘gentlemen’ when put on it.

Of course other than fashion, there happens to be lots of beautiful British fashioned knick-knacks too.

As we all know that the Britton are very fond of tea. Therefore, together with this ‘thirsty’ habit they produced large number of unique tea pots, tea cups, saucers, tea containers, biscuits containers and so on.

Due to the fact that Singapore and Penang previous were governed by the British Empire, thus, until present days there are still quite some amounts of colonial buildings. Not only this, as compared to Japan, it is much easier for us to obtain British goods. In fact, among these goods, my favourite one belongs to Marks & Spencer’s tin packing biscuits. M&S biscuits not only taste good, but the packing also are very unique and old British fashioned like. And so, I started to collect their biscuits’ tins. Up until present I already have 4 of their Double Decker’s Biscuit tins.

Although I’m quite fond of Britton, but I never get to travel to the United Kingdom before. Perhaps it’s a bit far away, and not to mention the cost of travelling. With my current situation, I think it’s not quite possible. Nonetheless, I’m sure I’ll go there someday.

シンガポールのマクドナルド

シンガポールやマレーシアのマクドナルドはとてもつまらないです。

メニューはいつも同じものです。

特別なメニューが全くありません。

日本の方が100倍良いです！いつも新しいメニューがありますので、すごく羨ましいです。

だけど、今回シンガポールのマクドナルドはかわいいものが販売しますよ～

それは：

ラインぬいぐるみです～

五つキャラクターがありますが、私はコニー、ブラウンとムーンしか欲しくありません。今はコニーとブラウンが持っています。

そして、バレンタインデーとあってコニーとブラウンのデートスペシャル版が発売します！

とてもかわいいですが、値段は普通の比べたらちょっと高いです。

買おうか、買わないか。困るよ～

In the sense on the limited choices of menu, McDonald’s in Singapore and Malaysia are actually quite boring.  Everything is the same, no special menu, nothing. In this case, the Japanese MCD are way much better than us. They get to enjoy special new menu on and off.

However, this time Singapore’s MCD finally got something ahead of everyone~

Naver Line Character Plush~

There are total of 5 character’s plush. But I’ll only collect 3 of them, which are: Cony, Brown and Moon. So far I had obtained Cony and Brown, while Moon will only release next week.

For course, with the coming of Valentine’s Day, they will be releasing the “Cony and Brown’s Date” special edition’s plush. Although, it’s kind of cute, but it’s quite pricy as compare to the normal version.

Should I buy?

シンガポールの子供

今日の昼休みは同僚と一緒にご飯を食べました。二人の同僚「MさんとJさん」はママですから、話題は殆ど子育てる事でした。Mさんの子供は七歳で、今年は小学一年生です。Ｊさんのは六歳です。二人とも子供にいろいろなクラスを与えた。それは：ピアノクラス、英語クラス、中国語クラス、体操クラス、中国伝統的ダンスクラス、バレエクラスなど。聞いたら、一言：「シンガポールの子供はとても大変です！」

そうではなく、もっと怖いのはＪさんの友達の子供です。その子はまだ6歳だけど、一週間内10つもクラスを参加します。めっちゃ怖いです！

たくさんクラスを参加したら、遊ぶ時間も殆どありません。そんなの生き方は、子供の生き方ではありません。子供は遊びながら、いろいろな事が勉強できます。それは正しい子供育ち方です。

日本の子供はどうですか？

I went for lunch with my colleagues this afternoon. Two of them (M and J) are mother, so most of our conversation were about bringing up children. M has a 7 years old child while J has a 6 years old child. Both of their children are attending: piano lesson, English lesson, Mandarin lesson, gymnastic class, Chinese traditional dance, Ballet and etc. The 1^st impression after these conversations was “Singapore’s children got no life!”

What is worst is that one of J’s friend’s daughters (6 years old) has to attend at least 10 lessons a week. That’s terrible!!

With so many classes to attend, they definitely don’t have much time to play. This type of life, it’s the real way to cultivate a child. Children will learn a lot of things while playing and having fun. All work and no play makes Jake a dull boy.

So how is the life of Japanese children?

カーリーヘア

私の曾祖母はタイ人です。つまり、私は1/4の混血タイ人です。

その1/4の血は“不愉快の遺伝子”です。

なぜなら、その血のせいで、私はカーリーヘアがしています。

欧美人のスタイルじゃなく、固くて、乾く、枯れ草ような縮毛です。

髪が長い時は獅子みたいです。髪はばさばさしていて、とても醜いです。

そのせいで、コンプレックスをしています。

現在はいろいろなパーマができるけど、ヘアサロンで待つ時間と頭皮が傷つける事の方が怖いです。だから、今の髪型は自然のままにしています。

もちろん、その“1/4の遺伝子”は良いものもありますよ。

それはビッグアイズと二重まぶたです。感謝すべきですね～

一応、人生は完璧ではありません。

良いこともある、悪いのもある。

My great grandmother was a Thai, which makes me ¼ of Thai.

However this ¼ is the “Unhappy gene”.

Why? It’s because of this gene, I have natural curly hair.

You must think that my hair looks like the westerner’s style. You are wrong! I have a hard, dry, weed grasses look alike hair. When it’s long, it’s so fuzzy that it looks like a lion! Because of this, I got my personal inner complex.

Nowadays, there’s lots of perming technique to tame these type of hair. However, I’m more afraid of the waiting time in the hair salon and the damage of my scalp. That’s why; I leave my hair as natural as it used to be.

Of course, there’s some good things behind this “¼ gene”.

Big eyes and double eyelids, I should be thankful for them.

What can I say? Life is not perfect. There will always be mixture of good and bad.
