好きな作家

私が大好きな作家と言えば、やっぱり小川洋子です。

恥ずかしいですが、実は私は本をあまり読めません。

もちろん、有名な名作家もあまり知りません。

だけど、小川洋子の本は私にとって人に微妙な引っ掛ける所があります。

時々暗い、時々美しい、時々暖かい、時々怖い、多分それが小川洋子の作品の魅力です。

私は小川さんの作品を出会った時は大学二年生の頃でした。

当時の私は日本語があまり上手じゃなかったから、英訳の「博士の愛した数字式」を買いました。

その後、小川さんの作品を惚れこまれています。

「ホテル・アイリス」、「ダイヴィング・プール」、「妊娠カレンダー」、「ドミトリイ」、そして元々印象深いのは「寡黙な死骸みだらな弔い」です。読んだ後、凄く怖かったけど、本当に面白いでした。

日本語がどんどん上手になる時、kindleで「薬指の標本」、「六角形の小部屋」、「猫を抱いて象と泳ぐ」を読みました。今は「原稿零枚日記」を読んでいます。

小川洋子さんのおかげで、私は日本の文学が好きになりました。もちろん、他の作家の作品も読んでいますけど、やっぱりkindleで本を買う時小川洋子の作品を優先します。

To me, my favourite author is Yoko Ogawa.

I’m quite ashamed for the fact that I don’t read much books, or know a lot of famous author.

But to me, Yoko Ogawa’s books have some mysterious subtle element which can draw reader in.

Sometimes it’s dark, sometimes it’s beautiful, sometimes it is warm, sometimes it’s frightening; perhaps, that’s the charm of her novel.

I started to read Yoko Ogawa’s books when I was in my 2^nd year of university. I was quite late thought, and my 1^st book was “The Professor and the Housekeeper”.

As my Japanese proficiency wasn’t very good, therefore I read the English translated version instead.

There onwards, I started to like her novels.

From “Hotel Iris”, “The Diving Pool” and not to mention the grotesque “Revenge”; the only book that left me goosebumps after reading it.

When my Japanese proficiency started to improve, I tried to read the original Japanese version using Kindle. I finished “Kusuriyubi no hyōhon”, “Rokukakukei no shō heya “, “Neko wo idaite zou to oyogu“ and currently I’m reading “Genkou reimai nikki”.

Because of Yoko Ogawa, I become fond of Japanese literature. Although I also read other Japanese author’s books, but when comes to buying books from Kindle, Yoko Ogawa will always be my 1^st choice.
